Repairing Power Converter

On March 5, I found out my camper converter is broken.  When I try to feed power to the camper, the interior light will not lite.  Light will flick and a beeping sound from the converter.

While the camper pop up, I took the converter apart.

The burn out circuit board.

The power converter is a Exilir ELX-25.  Since the manufacturer, Exilir, is no longer in business, finding the replacement part will be impossible.  Also, while doing research using Google, the review for this power converter is not good.  Google help me find a direct replacement part using WFCO power converter.  I purchased WFCO 25 amp WF-8725-P for $90.  With shipping, it's less than $100 from Adventure RV.

March 18 2016 - I received my order from adventure RV.

March 19 2016 - I started to install WFCO power converter back to the camper.  To install, I have to move existing 20 amp power switch to the new WFCO box.  With a power switch install, I move the power converter back inside the camper.  The new WFCO box is a bit bigger than existing Exilir box.  I have to use a knife to shave the opening to fit.  After fitting completed, I have to reconnect all the wiring.  The normal 120v AC wiring and 12v DC wiring.  With all wiring required, i plugged the power source back to the camper.

Cross my finger, the camper didn't blow up or caught on fire.  No short circuit.  I try to power on the camper interior light.

It's a miracle.  The light is back on.
