1. Universal 7 pin converter kit.
2 Tekonsha P3 brake controller.
3. No drill Short mount bracket.
The Universal kit from etrailer.com include every hardwares, cables and connectors. First, I mount the 7 pin connector to my vehicle. The connector has a 4 pin connector so you can connect the existing wiring.
After connecting the existing 4 pin to the 7 pin connector, try zip tied the wire slack for a clean installation.
With the installation kit, 15 ft of 10 gauge wiring included. You will need to route this wiring from the connector to your engine bay. Zip tie to secure the wiring to your vehicle. The kit also include 3 self-reset fuse in 40, 30 & 20 amp rating. For my installation, I'm using the 40 & 30 fused. Using the included instruction, wired as instructed.
I mount the self-reset fuse on the engine bay firewall.
Wiring connected.
The 10 gauge wiring provided by the kit is just enough. I did have to use some 14 gauge wiring to extend the wiring from the brake controller to the brake switch.
Here is the image where I install the tekonsha P3. I mount the brake controller on my center console under the 12v power outlet. One consideration on mounting the brake controller is quick detachable. This brake controller will be use between my two TV. I did buy an extra mount & pigtail wire for the brake controller.
My TV is now ready to towing duty.
