Although I'm still planning for our Alaska trip, I have peek interest on doing a Baja trip in the future. It will be after the Alaska/NT/Yukon trip. Baja California Sur is a long way from MA, but still closer to Alaska. Since Baja trip can be taken anytime of the year. There is no shortage of sunlight and beaches down that area.
I have started to read book from Lonely Planet. Try to get some idea of the location.
