2016 Summer Camping Trip - Newfoundland

Jan 27 2016 - Today is the first day for Park Canada Campground reservation for Newfoundland.  The reservation start at 8:30 NL/7:30 EST.  I make reservation via https://reservation.pc.gc.ca/

I have completed reservation for Terra Nova National Park for 3 days.  I'm trying to completed reservation for Gros Morne National Park for 5 days.  Unfortunately, the only 10 service campsite is not available for reservation.  Our camper requirement is to have at least 20amp electric service.  This is very important as we need to heat the camper if the weather is too cold.  Since Gros Morne National Park is not available, I look into KOA campground.  After email exchange with the campground owner, I'm now secure a reservation at Gros Morne KOA for 5 days.

The camping trip planning is maturing.  The first step on planning a camping trip is getting campground reservation.  Once reservation completed, next will be getting travel time line up.  Also starting to map the travel route.  Here is my preliminary travel route from MA.

Here is a list of task need to be completed.

1. Reserved ferry from Sydney NS & NL at http://www.marineatlantic.ca/en/
2. Confirmed vacation date.  This camping trip can be a 10 days or 18 days.  For 10 days, the trip will be limited to Newfoundland.  For 18 days, we will camped in Cape Breton for several days before we will revisit PEI.  
3. Buy Park Canada Family Discovery Pass for C$136.4.  For 2016, the Discovery Pass will be valid for 2 years, instead of 1 year.  
4. Passport renewal.
5. Currency exchange.
6. To-do list

Date confirmed - 16 days.  Today, I also booked Stanhope campground @ PEI and Cheticamp campground @ Cape Breton.  

The preliminary itinerary will be

4 days @ Prince Edward Island - Stanhope Campground

2 days @ Cape Breton NS - Cheticamp Campground

8 days @ Newfoundland -  Gros Morne KOA & Newman Sound Campground.

I might switch the campground at Prince Edward Island from Stanhope to Cavendish.  Cavendish campground currently is being refurb and most area is closed for reservation until April 2016.
